What’s up with this?

Karen has responded somewhat on her blog. While she chose to omit the question of her slander towards me, she did express some reasonable and I believe valid opinions about my attitude about my military service. Yes, I do get a little caught up in my service some times. It was an important time for me and helped me to grow up. But, very simply calling me a lair or a cheat is pushing a huge personal button. I’m going to leave this up because fair is fair. She wrote what she wrote and I wrote what I did. Simple.
Mark gave me some sage advice, “move on.” So, that is what I need to do. I’m throwing myself back into my direct mail projects. But, I’m not going to share until I have proof of something that actually works. I continue to be grateful to everyone who has helped Bear in any way, links, shopping direct donations, blog posts every little thing helps. All the best to all, jon

“An extremely experienced web and internet person whom I asked to publicize your site with my post went around to his various colleagues and was told that this site had been up for quite a long time, and that at least one of the people had seen it at least a year ago. The person who informed me of these things is someone I trust implicitly and who has no stake in whether I give you my whole paycheck or not. Even I, a softhearted cat mom with a squishy brain when it comes to felines, knows that after that length of time, the cat has recovered or has died or been put down by the vet. At first when I was told I was exceedingly angry, mostly because I had possibly lead my readers to the site and ASKED them to give money. However, I just whacked the post, kissed the money goodbye, and chalked it up to internet stupidity which would never happen again. And luckily, I only have about 14 readers anyway. Who are probably considerably more internet savvy than myself. So this goes in the DUH files, and I learn a relatively cheap lesson.

Yes Karen, of course this site “has been up for a long time” just a little over a year. It has in fact been little more than a tool for new bloggers to get a little buzz and link love via my weekly blog carnivals. I don’t have a personal following because I never aspired to be a guru. I’m still very much a newbie myself. Anyway, I fail to see the relevance, I put Bear’s page up the first week this month, I think on July 3rd. Your expert could check this. I made this very hard personal choice because I’m truly getting scared about Bear’s decline. And, while I think that I may be getting close to actually making some money online it looks like it will still be a couple months down the road. Your first reaction to learning if my problem was right on target and wonderfully expressed on your blog, thank you. (btw, I love your normal writing style, I laughed during every visit until today)
I would ask you to revisit my about me page. I am a retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer. That means little to most people and one hell of a lot to some. It means, I was very successful during my career, that success did not come about by being a liar or a cheat. It also means that I spent the first 20 years of my adult life serving my country and protecting the rights of it’s citizens to be and do pretty much what they desire. I believe your from Texas, on behalf of all my fellow veterans, you’re welcome.
I hope that you would ask your friends to revisit this issue. There maybe be another lessen to be learned here. Oh, I almost forgot, I have been using Bear’s pic as my avatar for quite a while, I don’t photograph well. So, his pic has been around on those visitor picture thingys about for 6 or 8 months.
Finally I thank you from my hard sailor heart for trying to help Bear.

I don’t think you are scamming anybody Jon.
I’m also certain if you did take to scamming people it would be for more than $5 and $10 donations ;-)
Keep your head up and move on.
Actually, Karen’s donation was a little more generous than that.
But really, I was hoping that the affiliate links would have been pulling a little stronger by now.
If course I need more visitors that are NOT affiliates themselves ;)

Perhaps Karen was having a bad moment,…..however,
Anyone who builds there credibility and beliefs by referring to association with others more experienced, and concludes alongs anothers line of reasoning,…..and likely thinks through their feelings, is only seeing and interpreting the world as they are, not as-it-is.
Finding a grocery list of things that are wrong once you have “reacted” to something is common with people ruled by their emotions and not their brains.
However, I know you Jon, on a personal level, and know to what degree you regard integrity. Things with you are always black and white. Period.
Before time spent with me, you were such a hardliner.
That you care about a cat enough to ask for help has shown me your caring side, as you know I don’t like pets myself, but then you Navy guys aren’t The Marines.
The only individual here who is unfortunately “mislead” is Karen, my only comment to such people would be, if you’re going to do something to help another, do it and move on, and act of kindness has greater averages of doing what you hoped it would.
What the Thinker thinks the Prover proves, if you believe that people are ripping you off, you will automatically build evidence to validate that thought, whether the thought was delusional or not. And if you reveal yourself by the thoughts you hold…….what does that say about you?
