We buried Bear today, Sept 25. He passed last night.

I’m not sure how far I’ll get with this post. Or, if I even publish it. Bear can’t have his operation.
Bear went in for his weekly ear flush and to get scheduled for his operation today. We were going to bite the bullet and borrow the money like normal people would probably do. My wife wisely asked the vet to do a Cat Scan on Bear. Bear failed his test. He has inoperable brain cancer. God have pity on anyone who might call me a liar today. I’m just a little pissed off at the universe.
So, what are we going to do?
I took Bear’s Vet Bill widget thing down. It’s too hard for me to look at.
The surgeon said to just “make him comfortable.” So, we’ll continue to do that. He told us that Bear might have a couple months or he might have a couple of years. Isn’t that just great?
We’ll speak with Bear’s primary care vet tomorrow to discuss Bear’s meds and his ear flushing schedule.
This has become pretty much a quality of life issue. It is our responsibility to help Bear to enjoy the time he has left.(how do I put the damn thought into words?)
We won’t keep him alive beyond his time. Won’t that be a bitch of a decision?
I’ll keep Bear’s page up for the life of this blog, because I promised to do that for those that tried to help. And also because I think that I had a good idea that might just work for someone else some day.
That’s all I can do right now. I need to think.

Straight to the point, here is my problem. Bear, he is my cat. Duh. Bear’s a retired street fighter that adopted my wife and I a few years back. Recently, Bear has been fighting again. This time he’s been fighting a very bad ear infection. This has been going on for months with expensive trips to the vet every week or two. The vet, Dr. Mona Boord has tried all the meds she could think of and Bear’s not winning this fight. Bear’s been a little trooper through all of this, drops, pills, liquids and shots that I have to give him. Damn, it’s hard for me to do that part, I HATE needles.
I have to give special thanks to the Vet Clinic at the San Diego Animal Dermatology Group, they have been great. Both with Bear and with us humans. If you have a vet need in the San Diego area, go there.
The next step is an operation which is estimated to cost a little over $2000.00. Yes, I know this might sound like BS, “please help me my cat needs an operation that I don’t have the money for” but, it’s the truth.
Why don’t I have the money? Cause us humans have been struggling here too. I had a stroke in late January and have been on disability since then. The positive is that I’ve been able to work full time on my internet marketing projects. I been blessed to have hooked up with a few people way smarter than me just recently and it looks like I should be able to turn the income corner in the next 3 to 6 months.
But, Bear needs help now not in 3 months.
So, I had a idea. I’m not going to ask anyone to send me any money to help Bear. But, I am going to ask everyone to help a little.
Especially all the bloggers, you each as individuals, will make this happen or not. I’m throwing all the link love I can generate straight to this page. By myself I can get it to a PR 3-4. I need help to get it past this point. Bears need is near term but this page will stay up with permanent links for the life of this blog.

Cool, with a little help from Bears friends we’ve been able to get indexed and ranked by Google already for the term “Bear Needs Some Help” with the quotes #7 of 92 results. That’s actually not a bad start. But, if you remove the quotes then there’s 56,800,000 results and I’d hate to guess were we might be. I have a lot of work to do.
Anyway on to the plan…
Step 1. Most people shop on the internet from time to time. Most online stores have affiliate programs. I am an affiliate with many and can become an affiliate with many more. I will be posting my affiliate links for businesses I work with. If, you see one here and chose to go shopping through my link, I’ll earn a small commission. You would still get all the normal benefits of shopping with the merchant. But, I’m just asking for you to visit the merchants website through my link. If there is a particular business that you like and it’s not on my list leave me a message comment here … CLICK HERE and I’ll see if I can get into their program.
Step 2. Promotion send everyone you can to this page. Lot’s of people send emails of jokes and stuff every day. Please consider sending your friends a message to come visit here. Especially if you know an internet marketing “Guru”. Wouldn’t it be nice to see “let’s help Bear emails” for a few days, instead of “buy my crap emails?” Promotion continued, please book mark this page… digg, stubble, sit squat whatever you like to do. I’m thinking Massive amounts of traffic. Forum posting, please post in your favorite forums. BUT, please be careful, only post where you have the credibility to do it. Please don’t go spamming and piss people off.
Step 3. Backlinks and more promotion. If you have a site please give me a post. With a link with “Bear Needs Some Help” as the link title. If you’re a respected commenter on a big site maybe get a link that way. Although, if you’re a respected commenter you might be able to get the big site owner to do a post for me. Why the backlink? Because I’m going to try to get this specific page ranked high with Google and I’ll give anyone that helps me earn a buck for Bear a permanent text link here.
