-About Me

So, who am I? I’m Jon Anderson, just a regular guy trying to get ahead in life. I’m a husband, father and son. I was born near the end of the baby boomer generation.

I was high school dropout at the age of 17 that graduated college within 18 months with a degree in business 10 years later. I’ll post details in my “education experiences” post. A military man that was nearly kicked out of the Navy during my first enlistment for disciplinary problems that went on to a successful career, ultimately retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Details will be in the “military experiences” post. A failed salesman in the 70’s, now currently a top sales producer for Schwan’s Sales Enterprises. www.schwans.com. Details on these will be in the “sales experiences” and “Schwan’s experiences” posts.

I was raised in the 60’s. A time when children were taught respect for each other and for adults. The days of “yes please” and “no thank you.” And, the lady next door was called Mrs. Smith, not Mary. Anyone remember those days? I was taught, like most everyone else that I had to finish school, get a good job, raise a family and eventually retire into the good life. That advice was flawed. It doesn’t work any more.

There are millions of my generation that are coming to realize that if they don’t change what they’re doing, they will end up working for someone else until the day they die. Why? Why do the masses continue to labor so hard only to be stuck laboring so hard for all their lives. As individuals, we must change and that change must come from within us. I have an advantage. I realize that, where I’ve been, where I am currently and where I go from here is largely a reflection if the choices I make. I am responsible for my own life. You my friends will get to watch. Some of you might learn some insight into your own lives. Some may even adopt your own paradigm changes.

My current job as a “Schwan’s guy” is a bit unique. I get to drive a big yellow truck around all day and visit 100’s of my customers in their homes. I might be in a “trailer park” on one stop an in a gated community of multi-million dollar homes the next. Are the families at these two stops different? Yes, they are. And, sometimes things aren’t as they seem. I’ve seen thriving little businesses run from mobile homes and families living in huge homes that they couldn’t afford to buy furniture for.

So, what is my own goal? I intend to learn my way out of a job. To find and implement other sources of income that will make my 14 hour a day work week unnecessary. Dust off your sneakers we’re going for a run. This is not a sprint. It’s going to be a really long jog. There should be lots of good stuff to look at along the way.
